Description
Lupinus x Hybrida
Lupine are magnificent in bloom and long-lived. Require lots of moisture during hot summers. Deadheading can prolong blooming. Cut back approx. 6″ in mid-late July, then not again until spring to remove winter kill. May require some staking. Needs winter protection in Northern gardens. A light mulch would be beneficial. Division is difficult due to the long tap root, but side shoots can be removed and replanted in the spring.
